The dialogue featured Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and speakers drawn from the highest levels of the UN Secretariat and was held under the Chatham House Rule.

On June 18, 2009, at the United Nations, IPI and HBO Documentary Films hosted a screening of Sergio, a film that recounts the life and death of UN diplomat Sergio Vieira de Mello, who was killed during the bombing of Baghdad’s Canal Hotel in 2003.
